Maurice Blaise has been a teacher
for more than twenty years. He graduated from St. Michaels
College, and then proceeded to join a Catholic Mission
in Africa, which is where the White Mandingo saga takes
place. The two part novel is based upon Maurice's life
experiences while in the jungles of Liberia, West
Africa.
Upon returning from Africa, he attended Princeton
Theological Seminary which is where he met his wife of
26 years Ellen. On May 10, 2004 Maurice passed away
suddenly and is survived by his wife and two sons.
To all of the people who knew Maurice when he was saying
his book would come out, here it is ten years later.
Maurice sends a special hello "to my friends in Vermont,
at Maryknoll, Princeton, the Anchorage in Miami Florida,
especially to all my former colleagues and students at
Carrollton in Miami, who watched me struggle with the
first draft."
